Abstract
Paroxysmal hemicrania (PH) is a rare variety of trigeminal autonomic cephalalgias. Symptomatic PH is relatively common and can be caused by variable diseases, such as aneurysm, arteriovenous malformation, cerebral infarction, and meningioma. Symptomatic PH due to calvarial metastasis has not been reported yet. Severe incidental pain according to tumor growth and tumor-induced bone remodeling progress could cause symptomatic PH in calvarial metastasis. We report a case of headache attributed to calvarial metastasis from renal transitional cell carcinoma presenting as paroxysmal hemicrania.
